Please complete the following form to register for a Deliberative Dialogue Event.
It is important to note, participants must be present for and engage in the full 2 hour event to earn credit. This means being in the room and conversing with peers. We will ask participants to leave if they are distracted/distracting, disrespectful, or not participating.
Only the Tuesday, November 11th event will include food and scholarship prizes!
These events are only open to registered SHSU students and SHSU employees with priority to those associated with Deliberative Dialogue ACE'd courses.
There are two different groups leading deliberative dialogues this semester.
SHSU Entity
The SHSU American Democracy Project (ADP)
This office leads our civic engagement office for SHSU. The SHSU ADP will lead slightly calmer/tamer sessions so participants can practice their DD skills.

Two Student Groups
Bearkat Deliberative Dialogues (BDD)
The purpose of the BDD student organization is to help Bearkats grow a community of coexistence, understanding, common ground, and unity via dialogues. This organization will use National Issues Forum Institute (NIFI) guides to structure their deliberative dialogue events. These deliberative dialogue events ~may include more controversial (or seemingly controversial) content. While these sessions are not led nor prepared by SHSU, they may serve as a DD event.
Kats for Political Science (KPS)
The purpose of KPS student organization is to have open, inclusive, and healthy dialogue among people of various political standpoints. Kats for Political Science aims to create a network among students, faculty, and professionals within the field.
