Sedgwick Multi-Day Retreat: Nature as a Field of Care and Source of Deep Resilience

Dates and times: Arrival 4-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. Departure at Noon Sunday Oct. 18, 2026.

Location: Sedgwick Reserve, UCSB research facility and grounds, Santa Ynez Valley. Registrants will receive driving directions and gate code.

Fee: $525/registrant + accommodations. Fee payments are not a tax-deductible donation. Contact us to inquire about need-based scholarships and scholarship fund donations. (See below.)

About: During the retreat we will explore ways to stay present, open-hearted, and engaged in our troubled world. Participants will be instructed to find a “sit spot” on the land, where they will listen deeply to the wisdom of the Earth. Later, in circle, they will share stories from their sit spot and discuss ways to integrate the lessons learned into their lives. The Sedgwick Reserve is a UC Santa Barbara research center in the Santa Ynez Valley. The registration fee covers all meals, refreshment breaks, and facility rental. The event is supported by MHP volunteers. Please see below for accommodation options and room/camping rates.

Class size is capped at 30 participants.

50% refund if notified by Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. PDT
