Our Casino Fundraiser this year is on July 30th and 31st at CASINO CALGARY [1420 MERIDIAN ROAD NE]
Participating in our Casino is a fun and easy way to meet your community members where there is no experience required! Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm.
KEY POINTS:
- Volunteers can sign up for more than 1 shift but they MUST be in the same role. Cannot be 2 different roles.
- We check IDs on-site, please bring yours with you!
- General Managers, Bankers & Count Room Supervisors MUST be DRCA members (if you would like to sign up for those roles and you are not a member, please sign up here: https://members.discoveryridge.com/signup ). Other volunteers do not have to be.
- Free meal included! If you are wanting to be count room staff, you must arrive no later than 11PM to get your meal.
CASINO ROLES AVAILABLE:
GENERAL MANAGER (GM)
- May temporarily perform the duties of any volunteer staff. Should the position being covered not return in a reasonable period (example: one hour) or is not expected to return, the General Manager may assign another volunteer staff to the role.
- Prior to the end of the event, the General Manager will sign off on any discrepancy report with the Advisor.
- May count chips on the casino floor with the casino boss.
BANKER
- Supervises the cash cage and is directly accountable to the General Manager.
- Responsible to ensure:
- The security and control of the chip/cash inventory during shift &
- The Cashiers retain personal control of chips and cash while on duty.
CASHIER
- Accountable to the Banker, a cashier provides services to casino patrons, exchanging casino chips for cash.
- Must not:
- Sell or exchange any currency for chips.
- Conduct any cash outs over $200 without the transaction being witnessed by the General Manager, Banker or Advisor.
- Accept chips from another casino facility.
- The cashier maintains the security of the chips and cash in their station while on duty, securing their station when not in use or on break.
CHIP RUNNER
- Verify the accuracy of chips while accepting, opening, closing or returning game tables on the floor.
- Ensuring chips are accurately transported to and from the chip bank and game tables.
- May assist the General Manager during pull of drop boxes.
COUNT ROOM SUPERVISOR
- Directly accountable to the General Manager for the supervision of the Count Room procedures and Count Room volunteers and ensuring the Count Room is secured while on duty.
- At the end of the count, the Count Room Supervisor will generate the Master Revenue Report and Count Room Drop Box Verification.
COUNT ROOM
- Roles include: [Will be assigned on-site]
- SORTER: responsible for preparing the drop boxes for the Count Room team.
- COUNTER: responsible for counting the contents of each individual box and reporting totals. May also assist the Sorter.
- RECORDER: enters information provided by Counter into the system for each box.
- AMALGAMATOR: performs the final count on the contents of each individual drop box and reporting total to the Count Room Supervisor. Placing cash in denomination bundles.
