About the mitzvah
Challah is a special and cherished tradition for Jewish women. During the process of making challah, there's a deep connection with Hashem as women dedicate this time to heartfelt prayer. This act symbolizes that a part of our lives belongs to Hashem, highlighting the belief that our sustenance comes from Him. Just as we set aside a portion of dough for challah, we also allocate a part of our earnings for charity. Described as the "reishit," or the first and best, challah reminds us that our spiritual pursuits may be small in quantity, but they are top priorities, receiving our utmost energy and attention.
