GoodGame Pickleball is Proud to Host a Tournament for Epilepsy Awareness
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes seizures and can affect people in many different ways. The severity and frequency of seizures often determine the impact on a person’s life, making awareness and understanding crucial.
Key Facts About Epilepsy:
• 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy during their lifetime.
• 3.4 million Americans live with epilepsy, including 470,000 children in the United States.
• 150,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.
• An epilepsy diagnosis is typically made after a person has had two or more seizures.
• Seizures vary widely, from brief staring spells to sudden collapses, and can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.
As a pickleball community, we have the opportunity to make a difference. By increasing awareness, we can bring hope to those living with epilepsy and support efforts to improve diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of this serious condition.
Together, let’s rally on the court to spread awareness and make an impact!
