OPENING OF SEASON May 4,2026
General: The gate will remain locked at all times the garden is unoccupied. The garden gate should be closed at all times. Lock the gate if you’re the last one out. Make sure all water faucets are off when you leave the garden. If you are the last one in the garden you must turn off the main valve, no matter the time of day. Walkways must be kept free of all obstacles. PCG reserves the right to remove materials obstructing any public path at any time. Community tools located in the supply bin and marked with yellow paint are available for garden use. Please return promptly after use and store them neatly and securely for the safety and convenience of fellow gardeners.
Watering: Unattended watering is not allowed. Gardeners must remain on the premises while garden is being watered. Drip irrigation is strongly recommended for all plots. Group purchasing will be available, let leadership know if you are interested.
Maintenance: You must maintain your garden plot and If you must abandon your plot for any reason, you will notify leadership. If your plot becomes unkempt, you will be given 2 weeks notice to clean it up. At that time, it will be re-assigned or tilled in. Any garden not active 2 weeks after opening will be forfeited and reassigned if prior arrangements with leadership are not made. You will keep weeds at a minimum and maintain the areas immediately surrounding my plot. Plots must be free of tall plantings (excess of 6 ft.). If an adjacent plot’s gardener complains of excessive shading by anything on your plot, you must come to an agreement or remove it. Remove all diseased plants from the garden areas. You will keep trash and litter out of your plot, as well as from adjacent pathways and fences. PCG does not have trash removal service. Any and all debris and garden material must be taken home for disposal. Unauthorized dumping on Garden grounds is not allowed. Perennial plantings are only allowed with permission and the understanding that they will need to be removed upon plot resignation. Hoses will need to be removed from the spigot after watering to allow for mowing unless they are buried. Hoses that are not buried or unhooked and damaged during mowing will be the sole responsibility of the plot owner, not the PCG.
Tilling: Plots wanting tilling must be cleared of all tools, infrastructure, large plant residues and other debris. Schedule of tilling is subject to weather and soil changes, so gardeners are encouraged to clear their plot early and keep it clear until their plots have been tilled.
Fertilizers and Repellents: No use of fertilizers, insecticides or weed repellents that will in any way affect other plots or harm the bee colonies. ( if you are unsure of the safety of any pesticide please contact leadership before using)
*The use of Roundup is not permitted
Harvest:
Please do not sample or harvest any crops other than your own unless given permission by the gardener. During harvest season, you must harvest ripe produce regularly. If garden is abandoned for more than 2 weeks, unless leadership is informed of prior arrangements, your produce will be gleaned and donated in order to reduce garden pests and the wasting of produce.
END OF SEASON: NOVEMBER 16, 2026:
Plots must be cleaned out of all dead plants, equipment and temporary structures by November 16th. Garden stakes and fencing is permitted if affixed to garden poles in your space and approved by leadership. Nothing is to be attached or affixed to an exterior fence. Failure to meet deadline will result in loss of future garden use.
