Beyond the Nutcracker Volunteers 2025
Thank you for volunteering to make BTN 2025 our best year yet! Here are the areas we need help with this season. Please note that volunteering during a show may include needing to get up to help during the show, so keep that in mind with your preferences!

#1. Field Trip Volunteers: Volunteers will help at our morning shows on December 4th, 5th and 11th from 9a - 11:30a to guide the school groups into Lincoln Way North and help to chaperone the performances. 2.5 hours of volunteer time per show. #2. Ushers: Each performance needs ushers to greet guests, hand out programs, scan tickets and answer questions. Ushers may need to get up to assist with guests during the performance. Ushers need to arrive at the performance 60mn prior to the beginning of each show and will be dismissed 30mn after each performance. Ushers may watch the performance, but should not expect to see the full show while volunteering. 3.5hr volunteer time per show. Kayla Kowach is the staff lead for these events kkowach@ballet58.org *

#3. Concessions & Merchandise: Volunteers needed to work concessions and merchandise for the Christkindl market. Volunteers will need to be comfortable serving food and working with customers. Arrive 90mn prior to show and depart 60mn after the show. 4hr volunteer time per show. You may watch the show, but may miss the opening and ending, as you will need to be at your station to greet guests a few minutes before and after the performance. #4. Photo Booth Attendant: Manage the lines for photos with the ballerinas and Santa. Maintain order and timeliness, close down lines 10mn prior to showtime. 60mn prior to show and 60mn after show. No photos during intermission. Volunteers may watch the show in it's entirety, but will need to purchase a ticket. 2hr volunteer time. #5. Backstage Monitor: Parent Volunteers are needed to sit backstage with our Preparatory Program and Ensemble Program dancers during the performances. These parents will need to attend a staff orientation to ensure all policies and safety procedures are understood for backstage. Responsibilities will include helping children to maintain a calm backstage presence, assist with snack time and allergy protocols, assist with costumes and headpieces, and assist with check-in and check-out protocols. Staff members will be present to lead volunteers. Volunteers will arrive 60mn prior to the show and will be dismissed 30mn after the show.
